SLCH CPOE
This site is designed to assist in the KiDDOS project bringing computerized physician order entry to St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Our job is to give you a place to work, giving style and structure that flows across the institution. Your job is provide the medical content that makes work flow and order sets valuable in your day to day operations, with the insight that comes from your day to day practice.
We have provided a set of educational resources. These can be Acrobat files (PDFs), simulations through Captivate, or sometimes PowerPoints These are in general directed to physician education but may overlap with other services. The best possible training is in person and we invite that over the next weeks in the laboratory or on the wards in the days prior to and following our planned go-live date on the evening of September 23rd.
Click below for example captivates (movies):
- This is an overview of the KiDDOS system. Starts with entry from the desktop. Gives a brief tour of the various data reporting features. Brief, but possibly all you need prior to seeing the system.
Brief (3 minute) demo of general system
- Reports are a part of any system. Over time we hope to move you away from paper. Here are instructions for printing reports. For MDs this might be a census or a physician rounding report.
Printing reports
- Finding patients in any large system can be challenging. The system automatically creates census lists based on ward location (PICU) or patients who are on your service. More sophisticated searches are possible and can be constantly updated without requiring intervention on your part. These are called criterion based lists. Once a list is defined it remains in the system - the instruction in this video will be valuable initially but not a part of your daily workflow.
